This website illuminates my life and adventures. My longing for freedom has led me to over 2600 of the world’s 3978 provinces, to every country on earth and to the summit of the highest peak on each continent (thank heaven for good weather!). In my travels, I learned to respect the intelligence and ingenuity of people of all races and callings both past and present. Come see the world as I see it: as a peaceful place, full of nature and beauty. With the right spirit and intent, we can make our world a virtual Garden of Eden.

Nepal, Namche Bazar, 1983 - In my journal I referred to it as "Namche Bizarre." I went back and forth to Namche several times. Namche is the main town in the Solo Khumbu region of Nepal, the area where Sherpas come from. (It was a Sherpa, Tenzing Norgay, who, with Sir Edmund Hillary, first climbed Everest.) I flew to Lukla and then walked a day to get to Namche, situated at 11,283 feet. As I walked over the lip of the bowl where Namche resides, I saw Everest for the first time. I whiled away days here writing about philosophy. I found a guide in Namche to take me to climb Island Peak, the first time I went over 20,000 feet.
Romania, Sighisoara, Dracula's House, 1997 - This is really supposed to be where Dracula lived, centuries ago, in the small town of Sighisoara. I walked from Cluj Napoca to Sighisoara, fell in love there with a woman who I never had, but ended up with her girlfriend. Then I walked on to Brasov, where Dracula's castle was supposed to be.
