This website illuminates my life and adventures. My longing for freedom has led me to over 2600 of the world’s 3978 provinces, to every country on earth and to the summit of the highest peak on each continent (thank heaven for good weather!). In my travels, I learned to respect the intelligence and ingenuity of people of all races and callings both past and present. Come see the world as I see it: as a peaceful place, full of nature and beauty. With the right spirit and intent, we can make our world a virtual Garden of Eden.

PH, Davao Oriental Province, Bee In Flower, 2008, IMG_1375 - A bee's world, surrounded by color, feeling the heat of the sun, drinking sweet natural nectar for the cost of a morning outing on his wings.
UK, Northern Ireland, Derry Province, Mural, 2008, IMG_5551CU1 - The Irish tricolor flag flying at half mast in Londonderry is not inadvertent. It is an intentional affirmation of the Irish for their wish to be part of the homeland, not part of the UK. Of course, not all Northern Irishman feel the same way about this subject. What do you think is the right solution?

Nepal, Namche Bazar, 1983 - In my journal I referred to it as "Namche Bizarre." I went back and forth to Namche several times. Namche is the main town in the Solo Khumbu region of Nepal, the area where Sherpas come from. (It was a Sherpa, Tenzing Norgay, who, with Sir Edmund Hillary, first climbed Everest.) I flew to Lukla and then walked a day to get to Namche, situated at 11,283 feet. As I walked over the lip of the bowl where Namche resides, I saw Everest for the first time. I whiled away days here writing about philosophy. I found a guide in Namche to take me to climb Island Peak, the first time I went over 20,000 feet.
