This website illuminates my life and adventures. My longing for freedom has led me to over 2600 of the world’s 3978 provinces, to every country on earth and to the summit of the highest peak on each continent (thank heaven for good weather!). In my travels, I learned to respect the intelligence and ingenuity of people of all races and callings both past and present. Come see the world as I see it: as a peaceful place, full of nature and beauty. With the right spirit and intent, we can make our world a virtual Garden of Eden.

Nepal, Monk Hats, 1983 - The regalia and costumes at the Mani Rimdu ceremony made it exciting. Here the monks wear traditional hats, harkening back centuries.
Morocco, Berber Wedding, 1988 - In 1988, I traveled overland across the Sahara desert. My first stop in Africa on this trip was Morocco. I attempted to climb Mt. Toubkal, the highest mountain in the Atlas Range, but I was unsuccessful because of lack of equipment and an unwilling guide. Spending the night in a Berber village, I was lucky enough to see a local wedding. In this scene, onlookers observe the wedding below while I observe (and photograph) them.

Bellingshausen, King George Island, Jeff Shea in Station Interior, 2001 - Bellingshausen is the Russian Base on King George Island (Isla Rey Jorge) in the South Shetland Island group off the coast of Antarctica. Bellingshausen holds the special distinction of being one of the Travelers Century Club's designated countries, even though it is only comprised of a few buildings. I stopped by for a cup of tea on my first visit to King George Island.
