Papua New Guinea, Pik, 1983

Papua New Guinea, Pik, 1983 - The pig is a very valued part of New Guinea life. It is used as a food source primarily, but it is also used as a form of compensation to settle disputes, to pay the bride price and even as a pet. The Highlanders build special low houses for the pigs, known as pig houses, or haus bilong pik.
