This website illuminates my life and adventures. My longing for freedom has led me to over 2600 of the world’s 3978 provinces, to every country on earth and to the summit of the highest peak on each continent (thank heaven for good weather!). In my travels, I learned to respect the intelligence and ingenuity of people of all races and callings both past and present. Come see the world as I see it: as a peaceful place, full of nature and beauty. With the right spirit and intent, we can make our world a virtual Garden of Eden.

Nepal, Sunset Near Everest, 1983 - The first time I went to Nepal's Solu Khumbu region, I walked to Everest Base Camp. I was coming back and it grew dark, and I got lost on the glacier. I came over an ice hill and saw this sunset. Although cold and in danger of freezing, I took out my camera and took this photograph. Fortunately, I found my way back to the Yeti Tea Shop.

Namibia, Epupa Woman Sunbasking In Water, 2000 - This young lady was enjoying the water. The day was very hot. She was receptive to being photographed. I always carried my 8x10 camera in those days. The entire kit weighed about 60 pounds. Her exuberance was inspiring.
USA, CA, Stanislaus, Brown Bear Pass, 1986 - I still maintain that Stanislaus National Park, just north of Yosemite in California, is one of the most beautiful places in the world to walk. The landscape is similar to Yosemite in that there is a lot of granite, but it has a more gentle aspect, making it ideal for cross-country treks. Wildflowers abound in the Spring.
