This website illuminates my life and adventures. My longing for freedom has led me to over 2600 of the world’s 3978 provinces, to every country on earth and to the summit of the highest peak on each continent (thank heaven for good weather!). In my travels, I learned to respect the intelligence and ingenuity of people of all races and callings both past and present. Come see the world as I see it: as a peaceful place, full of nature and beauty. With the right spirit and intent, we can make our world a virtual Garden of Eden.

Tanzania, Kilimanjaro Mawenzi Peak, 1984 - Opposite Uhuru Peak on Mt. Kilimanjaro is Mawenzi Peak, the second highest peak on the Kilimanjaro Massif. Mawenzi and Uhuru are divided by a huge saddle. Here I look back at Mawenzi while beginning up Uhuru Peak. Kilimanjaro is a great mountain to climb, both for its scenic beauty, the thrill of going to almost 20,000 feet, the location in Central Africa, and the climate changes from jungle to alpine meadow and past the tree line. In the vicinity are some of the greatest game parks in the world. If you're looking for some place cool to go....

This photograph was taken from Rongbuk Base Camp in the Spring, before the Monsoon. See other photographs on this site for what it looks like after the monsoon, when the rocky Everest is covered in snow.

Papua New Guinea, House in Wava, 1983 - This is the exterior of a house in the Oksapmin area. The houses here had ventilation in the roofs, unlike houses in many other parts of New Guinea.
Faroe Islands, Waterfall on Cliff near Vestmanna, 2000 - In my diary, I wrote, "Seeing the cliffs on the coast near Vestmanna were just too incredible for camera or description, truly one of the greatest sights I have ever seen." The grandeur was hard to capture in a photograph from the boat. Here a cascade of water falls from the bottom of an immense cliff.
