This website illuminates my life and adventures. My longing for freedom has led me to over 2600 of the world’s 3978 provinces, to every country on earth and to the summit of the highest peak on each continent (thank heaven for good weather!). In my travels, I learned to respect the intelligence and ingenuity of people of all races and callings both past and present. Come see the world as I see it: as a peaceful place, full of nature and beauty. With the right spirit and intent, we can make our world a virtual Garden of Eden.

St. Kitts, Bobby Daley, 2000 - While circling the beautiful island of St. Kitts in the Caribbean, we met an old Rastafarian. I wrote, "Continuing on to the north, we attempted to get close to the mountain on a track. There we met Bobby Daley, a chattery old Rasta with white and blonde dreadlocks. The was one of the most amiable people I ever met. We shook hands, and I felt his warmth. He didn't want me to take a photo, because he said he couldn't see it. But I said he could see it in my video, so I shot a digital video."

India, Rajasthan, Painted Elephant, 1984 - My pilgrimage to the Taj Mahal started in Jaipur, Rajasthan. On the first day of the walk, I passed this elephant. The owner had painted his elephant's face, bringing a note of celebration into the otherwise tough existence in this hot, dry region.

Egypt, Sphinx and Pyramid, 1984 - Perhaps the greatest symbol of the ancient world is the Sphinx at Giza, outside of Cairo. The legend that Napoleon's troops blew the nose off the Sphinx is questionable. I took this photograph in early morning after descending from my sleeping place atop Cheops.

Haiti, Les Cayes, Haitian Nefertitti, 2008 - By posing her against a white wall in the government office, I was able to illustrate her striking visage in a different way.

Papua New Guinea, Huli Wigman 2 Koroba, 1983 - On the far right of his wig, there are red and yellow candy wrappers. The wigmen seemed to accept any items that were to them beautiful, without regard to new or old, synthetic or natural. They were both artists and living art. They were creative. They might have been trying to emulate the bird of paradise. The male bird of paradise is the one with spectacular plumage. This is used to attract the female. I dismissed my previous conception that interest in adorning the body was primarily a female trait. Many of my perceptions were dramatically altered as a result of being in contact with these exceptional people.
