This website illuminates my life and adventures. My longing for freedom has led me to over 2600 of the world’s 3978 provinces, to every country on earth and to the summit of the highest peak on each continent (thank heaven for good weather!). In my travels, I learned to respect the intelligence and ingenuity of people of all races and callings both past and present. Come see the world as I see it: as a peaceful place, full of nature and beauty. With the right spirit and intent, we can make our world a virtual Garden of Eden.

San Blas, Woman With Earrings, 2000 - One of the features of the San Blas costume were gold earrings. The ones shown in this photograph are enormous. I found photographing them challenging. The objective was to show them without having the photograph appear travelogish.

China, near Shanghai, Old Chinese Woman, 1996 - On my way back to Shanghai from a short trip southwest, we went through an area with clusters of houses surrounded by fields. The houses had this whitewashed appearance and were somewhat picturesque. I stopped to take a photo. This old woman appeared at the doorway. She wears pants with patches at the knees.

Falkland Is, Pheasant Pair, 2002 - These gorgeous birds were in a grassy area on the water in Stanley, Falkland Islands. Diary entry: I walked back on a perfect afternoon, sun, wind, the sound of the church bells ringing for minutes, many Upland Goose near cemetery, distant mountains across the bay. It was so lovely, I thought, "All the things in life which are really valuable are not countable."

Western Sahara, El Layoune, SatelliteDishes, 2000 - This is the cityscape of El Layoune, Western Sahara. I was amazed by the number of satellite dishes.
