This website illuminates my life and adventures. My longing for freedom has led me to over 2600 of the world’s 3978 provinces, to every country on earth and to the summit of the highest peak on each continent (thank heaven for good weather!). In my travels, I learned to respect the intelligence and ingenuity of people of all races and callings both past and present. Come see the world as I see it: as a peaceful place, full of nature and beauty. With the right spirit and intent, we can make our world a virtual Garden of Eden.

China, Inner Mongolia, Pasta, 1992 - I traveled to Inner Mongolia, north of the capital of Hohhot. There, I met a family and was invited to eat. The wife prepared a special pasta by hand. They said that although there is the one-child rule in China, they were allowed to have more than one, since it was necessary to have help on the farm. I have never definitively verified whether this was true or not.

Seram, Kanikeh Man, 2006 - This man dressed up in this traditional costume for me to take a photograph. I thought his headdress was something of his own individual invention. The following year, in the museum in Ambon, I saw the same headdress and realized it was the long-standing tradition of Kanikeh.
