Tibet, Everest, View, From Vicinity Camp 2, 1995
Tibet, Everest, View, From Vicinity Camp 2, 1995- The journey from the North Col at 7000 meters (almost 23,000 feet) to Camp 2 (7500 meters) on the North Ridge of Everest goes up a snow and ice ridge, ending in rocks. Camp 2 is at the base of the rocks. There is an upper Camp 2 at 7600 meters. This photograph looks down on glacier that we walked up to get to Advanced Base Camp, otherwise known as ABC. ABC is nestled at the base of the slopes of Changtze to the bottom center of this photograph. It is not visible here. ABC is at 6200 meters (about 20,000 feet).
