This website illuminates my life and adventures. My longing for freedom has led me to over 2600 of the world’s 3978 provinces, to every country on earth and to the summit of the highest peak on each continent (thank heaven for good weather!). In my travels, I learned to respect the intelligence and ingenuity of people of all races and callings both past and present. Come see the world as I see it: as a peaceful place, full of nature and beauty. With the right spirit and intent, we can make our world a virtual Garden of Eden.

Morocco, Village Mosque in Atlas, 1988 - High in the mountains, villagers were called to prayer from this mosque. It is painted in bright colors, in contrast to the austere environment.
Taiwan, Taipei (TW-TPE) City Prov, Blossom On Branch, 2009 - I found this rather unusual. I have seen blossoms directly on tree trunks (see Seram, Maluku Province, Indonesia), but these are directly on the branch. I don't know what they are.
Tanzania, Poached Elephant Carcass, 1984 - This is a sad reminder of the ivory trade's devastation on the elephant population in Africa. The poachers cut out the tusks and left this carcass to rot.

Ibexes are very hard to see. I was lucky to have a f4 500 mm lens with me. They were far up on the other mountainside. The morning was extremely cold and windy.

Papua New Guinea, Bamboo And Pandanus, 1983 - The villagers filled the green bamboo in this photograph with sago paste. The red pandanus grows wild in New Guinea. Pandanus is remarkable for its color, and it is used for nutrition, but it has little taste.
