This website illuminates my life and adventures. My longing for freedom has led me to over 2600 of the world’s 3978 provinces, to every country on earth and to the summit of the highest peak on each continent (thank heaven for good weather!). In my travels, I learned to respect the intelligence and ingenuity of people of all races and callings both past and present. Come see the world as I see it: as a peaceful place, full of nature and beauty. With the right spirit and intent, we can make our world a virtual Garden of Eden.

Iran, Qom, Golden Mosque, 1984 - This is the Golden Mosque of Qom, Iran. It is one of the Holiest Shrines of Shi'ite Islam. Ramon Baro and I parked across the street and walked to its entrance. On the way back we could not get to the car as an anti-American demonstration passed between us and the landrover. The demonstrators yelled in Farsi. It sounded to me like they were saying, "Marg bar America!" (I was later told this meant, "Down with America.")

Turkey, Camel Along Road, 1984 - For me as a Westerner, seeing this car swerving to miss a camel was a novelty. I suppose for locals it is fairly common.

Greenland, Warming Island, off coast of Liverpool Land, Looking South To Southwest Finger, 2006 - This is an aerial photograph from the helicopter on the way to Warming Island. This shot looks south. The southwest finger of Warming Island is just right of center in the foreground. Following the strait to the right leads to the broken glacier, hidden here by afternoon fog.

Indonesia, Komodo, Forked Tongue, 2006 - Komodo dragons have forked tongue. They are nasty creatures, sort of prehistoric. We heard that not long before we got there, one of them ate its own baby. They have been known to devour humans.
