This website illuminates my life and adventures. My longing for freedom has led me to over 2600 of the world’s 3978 provinces, to every country on earth and to the summit of the highest peak on each continent (thank heaven for good weather!). In my travels, I learned to respect the intelligence and ingenuity of people of all races and callings both past and present. Greenland, North Coast, Arctic Knot Chick, 2007 - This arctic knot chick was one of four chicks that came out occasionally from under its mother's belly. The chicks ventured close to me, within about 8 feet, after I'd been there for awhile. The mother seemed to trust me. I moved very slowly for a good half hour. The markings are incredibly beautiful. This is taken at the landing site at Bliss Bugt. (Ref: Birds.)
DK, Greenland, Kaffeklubben And Camp 2 Site After Losing Tent, 2007, IMG_3770 - The tent fell off the pack on the way to Camp 2. John Richardson and I left on our own. We spotted the rest of the group trying to put up the tent. Kaffeklubben Island, the official northermost point of land in the world appears in the distance as a hill, about one kilometer off the north coast of Greenland, which ends just beyond the tent.
