This website illuminates my life and adventures. My longing for freedom has led me to over 2600 of the world’s 3978 provinces, to every country on earth and to the summit of the highest peak on each continent (thank heaven for good weather!). In my travels, I learned to respect the intelligence and ingenuity of people of all races and callings both past and present. Come see the world as I see it: as a peaceful place, full of nature and beauty. With the right spirit and intent, we can make our world a virtual Garden of Eden.

China, Inner Mongolia, Pasta, 1992 - I traveled to Inner Mongolia, north of the capital of Hohhot. There, I met a family and was invited to eat. The wife prepared a special pasta by hand. They said that although there is the one-child rule in China, they were allowed to have more than one, since it was necessary to have help on the farm. I have never definitively verified whether this was true or not.

Falkland Islands, Black-browed Albatross Feeding Young, Mouth Open, 2006 - This photograph was taken on New Island, a seldom visited outlying island in the Falkland group. The young bird on the right cannot yet fly and depends on the parent to feed it from the sea.
Papua New Guinea, Caterpillar, 1983 - This remarkable caterpillar suddenly appeared on my arm during my walk from Wava to Frieda Top Camp.
