This website illuminates my life and adventures. My longing for freedom has led me to over 2600 of the world’s 3978 provinces, to every country on earth and to the summit of the highest peak on each continent (thank heaven for good weather!). In my travels, I learned to respect the intelligence and ingenuity of people of all races and callings both past and present. Come see the world as I see it: as a peaceful place, full of nature and beauty. With the right spirit and intent, we can make our world a virtual Garden of Eden.

Seram, Kanikeh Man, 2006 - This man dressed up in this traditional costume for me to take a photograph. I thought his headdress was something of his own individual invention. The following year, in the museum in Ambon, I saw the same headdress and realized it was the long-standing tradition of Kanikeh.
Germany, Baden-Wurtenburg Province, Stork Wings Reversed, 2008, IMG_5912 - This stork inverts its wings, presumably to maintain its balance.

Falkland Is, Black-browed Albatross Feeding Young, 2006 - When I first saw these birds, I thought that they were a pair of adults communicating. I later learned that the young albatrosses cannot fly at all, and they grow as big as, or even bigger than their parents. The young bird is stranded, as it cannot fly. The parent fishes, then brings it back to the young. The fish is expelled from the parent's throat into the expectant chick open bill.
Ghana, Village Fishing, 1987 - I felt fortunate to see this group of villagers pulling the enormous net together. It is mankind's heritage to work together for the common good.
