This website illuminates my life and adventures. My longing for freedom has led me to over 2600 of the world’s 3978 provinces, to every country on earth and to the summit of the highest peak on each continent (thank heaven for good weather!). In my travels, I learned to respect the intelligence and ingenuity of people of all races and callings both past and present. Papua New Guinea, Bamboo And Pandanus, 1983 - The villagers filled the green bamboo in this photograph with sago paste. The red pandanus grows wild in New Guinea. Pandanus is remarkable for its color, and it is used for nutrition, but it has little taste.
Iran, Posters of Martyrs, 1984 - In 1984, Iran was at war with Iraq. This photograph shows posters of young men who had lost their lives at the war front. They are being hailed as martyrs. This type of display was common throughout parts of Iran at that time.
