This website illuminates my life and adventures. My longing for freedom has led me to over 2600 of the world’s 3978 provinces, to every country on earth and to the summit of the highest peak on each continent (thank heaven for good weather!). In my travels, I learned to respect the intelligence and ingenuity of people of all races and callings both past and present. Come see the world as I see it: as a peaceful place, full of nature and beauty. With the right spirit and intent, we can make our world a virtual Garden of Eden.

Falkland Is, Black-browed Albatross Feeding Young, 2006 - When I first saw these birds, I thought that they were a pair of adults communicating. I later learned that the young albatrosses cannot fly at all, and they grow as big as, or even bigger than their parents. The young bird is stranded, as it cannot fly. The parent fishes, then brings it back to the young. The fish is expelled from the parent's throat into the expectant chick open bill.

Then the bread was broken up and put into a pot with tomatoes and other vegetables. The result was a sort of tomato stew. It was filling and delicious.
Romania, Young Man In Doorway, 1997 - I walked across much of Transylvania. It was somewhat like walking into the past. The people lived simply. The land was rolling and beautiful. I traveled with a light pack, about 15 pounds, which included a Rolleiflex that I'd bought in Munich. The people all over the countryside were cooperative with my efforts to photograph them.
