This website illuminates my life and adventures. My longing for freedom has led me to over 2600 of the world’s 3978 provinces, to every country on earth and to the summit of the highest peak on each continent (thank heaven for good weather!). In my travels, I learned to respect the intelligence and ingenuity of people of all races and callings both past and present. Come see the world as I see it: as a peaceful place, full of nature and beauty. With the right spirit and intent, we can make our world a virtual Garden of Eden.

Slovenia, Trnovska Vas Province, Barn Side, 2006 - What a beautiful barn! A fine combination of modern and old, art and practicality.
Argentina, Hail Bigger Than A Golf Ball, 1993 - I have been telling people about this story for years, but I don't think they really get it. On the way to climb Aconcagua from Mendoza, Argentina, there was a hail storm. Look at the size of the hail stones!! Truly, there were leaves and small branches all over the ground. It seems to reason that this kind of hail storm could easily kill animals and even people!
Kenya, Narok Sunset, 1987 - I invited my father to come with me on my second visit to Africa. (Of course, he paid for the lion's share of things!) He made a rule that I agreed to. That was, we should try to arrive in places before dark. On our first night out on the way to Narok, I stopped and took this photograph with my Rolleicord, a camera he had given to me. Of course, we arrived in Narok in the dark. He did not approve. Over a week later, we were going from Nairobi to Arusha in Tanzania. We were delayed at the border and continued on in the dark in a taxi, seeing a giraffe along the way. I turned around to see him laying in the back seat, propped up against the door, smoking a cigarette. He was enjoying himself. I thought, "Now he's starting to get the hang of it."

Ascension, Looking Down, 2002 - We hiked to the high point of Ascension Island. This photograph was taken on the way down. Ascension is occupied by the US and British military. Ascension is an important breeding ground for sea turtles. If you go to the beach at night at the during the breeding season, you can see the turtles lay eggs. We saw them on February 19, 2002
France, Carcassonne, 2003 - When I saw Carcassonne for the first time, I was amazed. I stopped at the foot of a bridge to take this photograph. Carcassonne is most probably the most well-preserved, functioning medieval city in the world. Even though I had traveled for thirty years, I didn't know Carcassonne even existed till 2003. This reinforced my belief that the world is immense and there is no way to even approach seeing it all.
