This website illuminates my life and adventures. My longing for freedom has led me to over 2450 of the world’s 3978 provinces, to every country on earth and to the summit of the highest peak on each continent (thank heaven for good weather!). In my travels, I learned to respect the intelligence and ingenuity of people of all races and callings both past and present. Come see the world as I see it: as a peaceful place, full of nature and beauty. With the right spirit and intent, we can make our world a virtual Garden of Eden.

UK, Northern Ireland, Derry Province, Choking On Oppression, 2008, IMG_5545CU1 - Going to Free Derry can be an emotional experience. One cannot help but be moved by the terrific fight the inhabitants put up in the quest for self-determination.
Kosovo, Riding The Back Of The Truck, 2003 - I drove across Kosovo to Montenegro in a car rented from Serbia. I didn't realize until someone told me that it was a bit dangerous to drive around with Serbian license plates, given recent history. Here a man rides the back of a truck. My feeling in Kosovo was one of restrained sadness.
Uzbekistan, Ancient Gate, 2002 - This ancient gate is on the outskirts of the town of Samarkand.

Ascension, Woman Mountain, 2006 - Called "the ugliest island I've ever been" by some of my fellow passengers aboard the Alexey Maryshev, Ascension Island proved to be one of the most beautiful. I have never seen a mountain look like this.
