This website illuminates my life and adventures. My longing for freedom has led me to over 2600 of the world’s 3978 provinces, to every country on earth and to the summit of the highest peak on each continent (thank heaven for good weather!). In my travels, I learned to respect the intelligence and ingenuity of people of all races and callings both past and present. Come see the world as I see it: as a peaceful place, full of nature and beauty. With the right spirit and intent, we can make our world a virtual Garden of Eden.

Haiti, Les Cayes Province, River Beauty, IMG_5198 - In the village river, the people play in the rapids, using inner tubes, dunking each other or jumping from the overhanging tree. The sun bears down. A market place hugs the wide bank of the river. The people are friendly. I walked down to the river side and jumped in!
Vietnam, Long An Prov, Wok Sales Boat
Thailand, Lamphun Province, Budda Is Bigger Than Man, 2008, IMG_3996 - The lama invited me in the early morning to enter the temple. When he closed the door, I reacted from instinct and took this photograph.
Bangladesh, Sherpur Prov, Sale Fish
Turkey, Bitlis Prov, Sheep Camp
Laos, Champassak Prov, Tribeswoman
UK, Scotland, Irvine, Robert Louis Stevenson's House, 2003 - The brick house second from the right was a place where Robert Louis Stevenson, the poet, lived for some time. This is in an allley in the town of Irvine, in Scotland.
Cuba, Havana Neighborhood, 1997 - In 1997, when I visited Havana, the city looked like it had been built with grandeur, but then not repaired or touched for decades. Still, it was somehow picturesque and charming. The city had a special atmosphere.
Papua New Guinea, Jeff Shea On Raft On Sepik, 1983 - Standing at the helm of the raft allowed me to steer it by paddling, pole our way out of shallows or push it away from overhanging obstacles.
Namibia, Epupa Woman Sunbasking In Water, 2000 - This young lady was enjoying the water. The day was very hot. She was receptive to being photographed. I always carried my 8x10 camera in those days. The entire kit weighed about 60 pounds. Her exuberance was inspiring.
