This website illuminates my life and adventures. My longing for freedom has led me to over 2600 of the world’s 3978 provinces, to every country on earth and to the summit of the highest peak on each continent (thank heaven for good weather!). In my travels, I learned to respect the intelligence and ingenuity of people of all races and callings both past and present. Come see the world as I see it: as a peaceful place, full of nature and beauty. With the right spirit and intent, we can make our world a virtual Garden of Eden.

Azerbaijan, Baki Prov, Maiden Castle - I went out at night to take a walk. Fascinated by this old castle, I tried to take a photo of it that offered a new perspective.
DK, Greenland, Bliss Bugt, Arctic Hare, 2007, IMG_3527CU1 - To get this photo I had to stalk the rabbit. Writer John Richardson from Esquire patiently accompanied me. We were on a walk. He thought I was nuts.
Kenya, Jeff Shea Writing At Nyandarua Hotel, 1984 - When Gabrielle and I first arrived in central Africa, we stayed in the Nyandarua Hotel in Nairobi. It was part hotel, part brothel. It was very dirty. Here I relax, writing in my 1984 journal. The 1984 journal will appear in this website in its entirety.
Portugal, Azores, Children, 2000 - Children are the same everywhere.

Papua New Guinea, Canoe on Sepik, 1983 - To my surprise, the people of the Sepik had small fires burning in their canoes as they paddled along. These fires could be used to light their pipes or to carry fire from one place to the next.
