Greenland, Warming Island, off coast of Liverpool Land, Northern Lights Over New Strait, 2006 - The night of Sept 9, 2006 was the first time in my life I saw the Northern Lights. This incredible spectacle of nature mesmerized me, and I lost track of time, photographing it in freezing temperature, wearing tennis shoes in the snow. At first my feet were cold, but I soon forgot about that, so captivated was I. The strait forming the new island is just below in the foreground.
