This website illuminates my life and adventures. My longing for freedom has led me to over 2450 of the world’s 3978 provinces, to every country on earth and to the summit of the highest peak on each continent (thank heaven for good weather!). In my travels, I learned to respect the intelligence and ingenuity of people of all races and callings both past and present. Come see the world as I see it: as a peaceful place, full of nature and beauty. With the right spirit and intent, we can make our world a virtual Garden of Eden.

Papua New Guinea, Eclipse Sepik River Area, 1983 - I experienced my first eclipse when I was at Frieda Strip on the Frieda River. Everything was cast in an other-worldly light.

Sulawesi, Makassar Sunset, 2006 - Makassar is also known as Ujung Pandang, the capital of Sulawesi. As the sun went down, I had delays in setting up my camera. When the first photo was taken, the digital card was full, so this is the only one. Makassar is a large town. It is the gateway to Torajaland, a place with unusual customs and good coffee.

Chad, Structure On The Way To Bol, 1990 - I made it from Ndjamena to the "shore" of Lake Chad. I reached Bol and then went on to Baga Sola. I rode in the back of a truck in the midday heat after riding through the night. I developed heat exhaustion in Baga Sola. My urine turned orange - but it was not hepatitis. I was so far gone, I laid down on the floor in front of a bar. I had to get out of there, but it was a long way to Ndjamena. Fortunately, some people in a good 4 WD picked me up and we raced along, arriving in Ndjamena at night. I was ordered to go to the police by a man wearing a long robe. He showed me his gun, which alarmed me. This was the onhy country I'd ever tampered with a document - I changed the date on my visa from a year before to the present day. I worried a great deal, but it was only a routine visit.... This structure was on the \\\\\\\"road.\\\\\\\" The road was no more than tire tracks in the desert.
