This website illuminates my life and adventures. My longing for freedom has led me to over 2450 of the world’s 3978 provinces, to every country on earth and to the summit of the highest peak on each continent (thank heaven for good weather!). In my travels, I learned to respect the intelligence and ingenuity of people of all races and callings both past and present. Come see the world as I see it: as a peaceful place, full of nature and beauty. With the right spirit and intent, we can make our world a virtual Garden of Eden.

Turkey, Kastamonu Province, Couple - December 5, 2009 - At about 11 p.m. we entered into Kastamonu province. We went into a small tea shop at about midnight. The proprietor and his wife were very friendly and posed for photos. They were clearly very happy. This is the dream of so many people, to be in love for as long as they live. A beautiful sight.

Uganda, Elephant Sign, 1984 - I have only seen one of these in all my travels, although I suspect there are others someplace: an elephant crossing sign. In the 3rd century B.C., in the time of Hannibal, there are believed to have been tens of millions of elephants. Today there are less than 610,000.

Bangladesh, Ricksha, 1983 - On my first visit to Bangladesh in 1983, I was amazed by the colorfulness of their rickshas and buses. Although gaudy by American standards, this type of decoration is common not only in Bangladesh but in Pakistan as well.
